Change Is Possible
Welcome! I’m Kate Simmons, LMHC, and currently ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS. I am a dedicated therapist known for compassionate and strength-based approaches. My commitment to individualized care offers empathetic support and evidence-based strategies tailored to meet your needs. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced significant life challenges and have offered guidance and support for those struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, college concerns, sexual abuse, and trauma. My expertise has developed from working in a variety of settings and fosters a safe and empowering space for clients to begin their journeys toward healing and well-being.
Beyond the therapy room, my life is a blend of guiding others and interweaving the joys and challenges of raising two busy teenagers with my husband. I draw inspiration from my own experiences as a parent and whole-heartedly believe in the strength of connection. In my downtime, I enjoy reading, drawing, painting, listening to records, and occasionally binge-watching shows. I believe the path towards healing and growth
is multifaceted, and my holistic approach reflects not only in my professional endeavors but also in my personal life.
I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. Prior to that, I received a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Sociology from Iowa State University. I am certified in multiple trauma-informed approaches such as TF-CBT, EMDR, CFTSI, and integrate CBT, ACT, Family Systems, and Somatic modalities. I am also a certified SYMBIS (Saving your marriage before it starts) facilitator and enjoy premarital counseling with couples.
I would love to hear from you!
