Living by what matters.
Welcome! I’m Kate Simmons, LMHC, and currently accepting new patients. I provide thoughtful, trauma-informed therapy for adolescents (teens) and adults who are navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, and the impact of past experiences. My work is grounded in compassion, evidence-based care, and a belief that meaningful change begins by understanding what's underneath, not just managing symptoms.
I work primarily with teens and adults seeking greater clarity, emotional flexibility, and a more intentional way of living. While I have experience supporting a wide range of concerns, my focus is on helping individuals move toward what matters most to them, even when life feels overwhelming or uncertain.
Beyond the therapy room, my life is a blend of guiding others and staying grounded while living forward. I'm a parent to a teenager and young adult, a partner, and someone who values creativity, reflection, and connection. In my downtime, I enjoy music, drawing, painting, binge watching shows, and playing with my dogs, small rituals that help me stay present and balanced. I believe healing and growth are multifaceted, and my approach reflects that belief both professionally and personally.
I earned my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and hold undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Iowa State University. I am certified in multiple trauma-informed approaches such as TF-CBT and CFTSI, and integrate ACT, CBT, Family Systems, and somatic modalities.
I would love to hear from you!
